Live music fans can once again make their way to the benches, bleachers or a blanket on the grass every Sunday and holiday this summer for the return of the City of St. Joseph Municipal Band and their rousing concerts in the park.
After being relegated to pre-recorded, online, performances during the summer of 2020 due to the pandemic, the city has announced that the full season will be back live at the John E. N. Howard Band Shell this summer overlooking the St. Joseph River and Lake Michigan.
Carrie Ogonowski, Recreation Manager for the City of St. Joseph, says that the Municipal Band, under the leadership and direction of Dr. Donald K. Moely is excited to welcome you back to the Band Shell for the summer of 2021. Concerts will begin this coming Sunday, July 4th at 7:00pm, and the band will be performing one concert each Sunday from Independence Day through Labor Day, Sunday, September 5, 2021. The Howard Band Shell is at the northern end of Lake Boulevard where it intersects with Port Street in Lake Bluff Park, and all municipal band concerts are free of charge to attend.
