Celebrating the Entrepreneur in All of Us

When it comes to entrepreneurs, strength matters. In fact, three local entrepreneurs who share the opinion that "It's All About Strength," will be showcased in next month's "Celebrating the Entrepreneur in All of Us" event from The Women's Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance.

That celebration is slated for Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 11am until 1pm at the Shadowland on Silver Beach ballroom located at 333 Broad Street in the city of St. Joseph. The panel of three local entrepreneurs who all share the common denominator of health and how it led each of them to open their own business will be the main focus of the celebratory event.

The panelists include Jamie Cousins, owner of the Mason Jar Cafe in Benton Harbor, Jamie Kastelic, owner of Spero Hope, LLC, with organic healthcare products online and throughout Michiana, and Marydawn Taggart, owner of Maddog 5/1: Revolutionary Fitness of St. Joseph.

The program will be moderated by Zack East of Mid-West Family Broadcasting who is Program Director and Air Personality for 98.3 The Coast and Digital Media Manager at Mid-West Family Broadcasting, while also holding down the role of Program Director for Rock 107 — WIRX.

A keynote speech will be delivered by Kathy Beauregard from Western Michigan University where she is Director of Athletics. She is among three female athletic directors in the Mid-American Conference and first ever at WMU. She will share her experiences over her 37-year career span at the university.

Margaret Adams is Manager of The Women's Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance. She says, "This is our third year of celebrating entrepreneurs, and it is wonderful to gather our clients and those that support our work for this special event." She adds, "Small businesses are so vital for the local economy, and we are proud to work with those who are willing to start and grow their own business."

The WBC works with individuals throughout Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties to turn their dreams into viable start-up businesses and with existing entrepreneurs to take their business to the next level.
