After receiving over 550 nomination submissions, 90 small businesses from every corner of Michigan have been selected as recipients for the 18th annual Michigan Celebrates Small Business Gala. Jennifer Deamud is the board chair of Michigan Celebrates. He spoke with Michigan News Network about the celebration.
“It’s a broad spectrum across all 83 counties in Michigan, ranging from manufacturing, service, restaurants and breweries, life sciences, high tech, 21st century, 21 businesses,” Deamud said.
Some of the companies nominated are Detroit Cabinet Manufacturing in Wayne County, Ethels Baking Company in Macomb County, PG Pharmaceuticals in Oakland County, and Nutshell in Washtenaw County. Looking closer to southwest Michigan, awardees include GP Manufacturing, Incorporated of Berrien County, Hoekstra Electric of Allegan County, and Lounsbury Excavating of Van Buren County.
