Cinco de Mayo is still a couple of months into the future, but thanks to the Bridgman Foundation for Educational Excellence and their partnership with Classic Catering, you can get some early practice in this weekend with an Old Mill Run Mexican Fiesta Night.
This coming Saturday, February 20th from 4 to 6pm the Old Mill Run Mexican Fiesta Night is a fun give-back night to help raise the funds necessary to provide enhance learning opportunities for Bridgman students, staff, and community.
The Bridgman Foundation for Educational Excellence says that for just $40, a family of four can enjoy a delicious meal consisting of:
- Eight chicken and cheese enchiladas
- Eight ground beef soft-shell tacos
- Spanish Rice
- Refried beans
- Chips and salsa
- Cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa and sour cream will be provided on the side

To ensure the health and safety of everyone during the pandemic, ticket holders can pick up their Mexican Fiesta dinners by way of a drive through pickup process at Bridgman High School this Saturday, February 20th between 4:00 and 6:00pm. Upon arrival, patrons will simply show their PayPal receipts and volunteers will load the hot meals into their vehicles. Everyone can enjoy the tastes of Old Mill Run in the comfort of their own homes.
Classic Catering is owned and operated by Brett and Melissa Boyd, who previously owned the Old Mill Run restaurant in New Troy several decades ago. Old Mill Run was well known for Taco Night every Wednesday, where they always had a line of people out the door.
Allan Barker, Bridgman Foundation for Educational Excellence Chairman, says, “We are thankful that Classic Catering is so community-minded,” and adds, “So many people remember Old Mill Run with great fondness. It’s wonderful that Classic Catering is willing to bring some of that nostalgia back to the area to help us raise money for such a worthy cause.”
The Bridgman Foundation is taking a new approach with this fundraising event to ensure the health and safety of the community while raising funds needed to continue to provide enhanced learning opportunities for Bridgman students, staff, and community.
Shane Peters, Bridgman Public Schools Superintendent, says, “The Bridgman Foundation for Educational Excellence has been an incredible resource for our staff and students,” and adds, “I’m so pleased that they are thinking creatively to continue these important fundraising initiatives. Tickets are being sold in advance online only and can be purchased now at the link above, followed by meal pick up service at Bridgman High School, located at 9964 Gast Rd in Bridgman on Saturday.
