One of the major players in the heating and air conditioning business in Michigan’s Great Southwest is realigning its strategy a bit, no longer seeing the need for a “showroom” facility in the heart of the Benton Township retail district.
Boss Services has listed its highly visible headquarters office and warehouse building at 2188 M-139 “For Sale.”
Boss Services co-owner Jeff Street told MoodyOnTheMarket.com that their needs have changed:
“Since we changed suppliers from an out-of-town vendor to a local vendor we no longer have a need for the large warehouse space we needed a couple years ago. When we stopped doing plumbing in 2023 we downsized our office staff so we no longer need all the office space we have either. Right now the commercial property market is starting to pick up so it just makes sense to sell the building and move into a smaller space that fits our needs. A smaller space will significantly lower our occupancy expenses and allow us to keep our prices as low as possible. We are not sure where we are moving to yet, we have not found a space. Where ever we end up, we will continue to serve Southwest Michigan at the highest level for years to come.”
The Boss facility on M-139 is about 20 years old, having been built as a motorcycle, four-wheeler and personal watercraft dealership. It features a lot of wide open, flexible space and huge windows, plus warehouse and shop space in the rear.
