Berrien Veterans Services Offer Free Financial Peace University to Vets

When you chat with a friend, family member, colleague or even a stranger on the street and they ask how you’re doing, can you honestly answer them, “Better than I deserve?” Perhaps if you had financial peace in your life you would be able to toss that answer freely.

Everybody wants it, not everybody can get it, but everybody deserves a chance. Especially members of our armed forces and the veterans who have served out country in times of both war and peace. If you are a U.S. Military veteran and want to be able to join the ranks of those who know and enjoy financial peace, the team at Berrien County Veterans Services have a course for you.

Space is limited, but veterans can participate free of charge in the upcoming Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University Military Edition Course hosted by Berrien County Veterans Services.

Financial Peace Military Edition includes nine classroom lessons that cover everything from budgeting and paying off debt to retirement and charitable giving. Here’s a look at the lesson plan from the Dave Ramsey organization:

  • Lesson 1: Super Saving
  • Lesson 2: Relating with Money
  • Lesson 3: Cash Flow Planning
  • Lesson 4: Dumping Debt
  • Lesson 5: Buyer Beware
  • Lesson 6: The Role of Insurance
  • Lesson 7: Retirement and College Planning
  • Lesson 8: Real Estate and Mortgages
  • Lesson 9: The Great Misunderstanding

Classes for this special military edition will begin on Thursday, November 7th and run for 9 weeks every Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at The Chapel, located at 4250 Washington Avenue in St. Joseph.

The classes come highly recommended. One military family who attended said: “Financial Peace Military Edition was the tool our family really needed. We managed to pay off over $5,500 worth of debt and create an emergency fund within 90 days. We recommend the program to anyone who wants to seriously change their financial situation and provide financial security for their family.”
