Citing a “significant increase in recent COVID-19 case counts and a rise in the percent of positive tests and hospitalizations throughout Berrien County,” the Berrien County Health Department has taken the unusual step of issued a joint “Open Letter” to the entire community in partnership with Berrien County School Districts from one end of the county to the other asking people to re-focus on safety going forward.
The alarm bells have been increasing in recent days with rising numbers and everyone who is signatory to the open letter released this afternoon wants the public to know, “It is critical that we all work together to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our communities with the same resolve that has allowed us to successfully open our schools this fall,” adding, “We all must follow the necessary protocols when out in public or around others outside of your household that have worked to provide a safe environment in our schools: wear a mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands.”
