If you have business anytime from this Friday through next week at the Berrien County Administration Center located at 701 Main Street in St. Joseph…here’s an important heads up for you: Parking may be ridiculously difficult all week long, so plan ahead.
County Administrator Bill Wolf’s office wants everyone to know in advance that parking for the public at that center will be very limited from Friday, August 25th through September 4th due to the impending replacement of that parking lot.
In fact, there will be no handicapped parking in that lot during the rebuilding process. Handicapped parking will be located along Pearl Street, adjacent to the administration center throughout that time period and will be clearly marked accordingly. Wolf’s office is apologizing in advance for any inconvenience that situation presents to members of the public attempting to conduct business there next week.
In the meantime, Wolf’s team reminds you that many of the services people show up for in person can be accomplished online by visiting the county’s website, which is linked below. In fact, you can order a copy of a birth certificate…pay taxes…access veteran’s forms…obtain soil and erosion permits…and view and fill out job applications all online if you wish, thereby avoiding a trip to the potential packed facility with limited parking access.
The following Berrien County departments are located in the Administration Center and can be contacted by calling 269-983-7111 and accessing that department’s extension. You might do well to call the department for advice or questions rather than attempting to find parking next week during the parking lot reconstruction.
