What was your first job? During my high school years I had the opportunity to be an office assistant for Andy Egan where I was given the chance to see the workings of a day-to-day business, while having a great job for a 16-year-old! My first ‘real’ job after college was working with my dad at his company, Altron Automation. I owe a lot of my entrepreneurial spirit to my father. Seeing him grow that company since I was a toddler, his daily goals to do what was best for his employees, and his motivations for success gave me a great platform to kick off my career.

What motivates you to give back to your community? I find when I care about something I often ask myself the question: “If I don’t do it, who will?” I enjoy volunteering my time, when I have it, and I especially enjoy the people I meet when doing so. Anyone giving of their time in that capacity is there because they want to be and often are great people to have in your network. I am especially motivated to work with volunteer opportunities for the schools and music programs, since I believe these are some of the most important years for our kids.

What Superpower would you most love to have? Teleportation. There are so many things to see and experience in the world but not enough time to do it all!

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone? An example for my son of a strong, hardworking, and fun woman who brought together the community, created a company with an open, honest and success-driven culture, and loved her family and friends. And maybe some funny stories that make people smile.

What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you? Somedays it feels like I’m just running and I ask myself, “Am I making the right decisions?” or “Am I moving in the right direction?” Recognition like this makes me incredibly proud and encourages me to continue to work hard, give back, and show up for my community, customers and employees.
