The Region IV Area Agency on Aging and Brio Living Services have announced a new partnership with Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly of Southwest Michigan, or PACE, to help grow home and community-based services available to older adults in the region.

Starting this month, the new partnership will allow PACE of Southwest Michigan personnel to focus on care, while many administrative functions will be supported by Brio’s team of PACE experts. The decision comes after six months of talks and consideration by PACE, the Area Agency on Aging, and Brio Living Services.

The Area Agency’s Christine Vanlandingham says the organization is honored the support the work of PACE of Southwest Michigan so it can help ensure seniors are allowed to stay in their homes while getting the care they need.

PACE says having the administrative pressure taken off staff will enable the organization to create more opportunities for older adults to take part in the program.

PACE of Southwest Michigan opened its Day Center in St. Joseph in 2012 and has since served more than 759 seniors. It boasts of 100 professionals who serve 250 participants throughout Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties.
