April 27 Hog Roast in Three Oaks Supports Big Flag Day Parade in June

It’s said to be the biggest Flag Day Parade in America, right here in Michigan’s Great Southwest, in Three Oaks.  And it doesn’t happen without major effort and at major expense.  Part of that Three Oaks Flag Day Parade & Weekend budget is covered by the annual Hog Roast coming up April 27th–as we learn in this information summary from the Three Oaks Flag Day organizers.

Three Oaks Flag Day is excited to announce the date for the annual Three Oaks Flag Day Hog Roast. Taking place from 5-8PM on Saturday, April 27th, friends and family are invited to come support Three Oaks Flag Day with great food, silent auction, live auction, and live music by The Resurrection Blues Band. Taking place at the Three Oaks American Legion Hall, all hog roast proceeds will go to sustaining the Three Oaks Flag Day Parade.

“We hope you will join us and bring a friend for a great time at this year’s Hog Roast. The silent and live auctions have some amazing prizes, the food is always delicious, and live music by Resurrection Blue Band will bring it all together,” said Heather Whitlow, Festival President. “We are also excited to share that Flag Day is going to be part of a documentary and all the events leading up-to and during the Flag Day Parade could be part of it!”

The Three Oaks Flag Day Parade is kept going by sponsorships and the hog roast fundraiser. Donations from surrounding businesses fill the Three Oaks Flag Day Hog Roast silent auction including gift baskets, adventure packages, gift certificates, decor, and more. The live auction will include a dinner at Granor Farms.

“We look forward to this event every year. It is fun to see the community come together in support of our June festivities. Our newly crowned Flag Day Prince and Princess and the Three Oaks/River Valley Royalty are excited to welcome everyone to the 2024 event. We hope you can join us for dinner and live music or grab a meal to-go,” said festival volunteer Brittney Sherrill.

Hog Roast Tickets are $25 and will be available for purchase at the door. Participation in the silent auction is on an individual basis with only cash and check being accepted. If you would like to donate to the silent auction, please contact Heather at 269-612-1960. Live music by The Resurrection Blues Band will begin at 6pm. The 2024 meal will include pork, baked beans, mac ‘n cheese, coleslaw, and dessert. This event is being sponsored by Three Oaks Flag Day sponsors: The American Legion Post 204 and Journeyman Distillery.

For the past 72 years, the Three Oaks Flag Day Parade has been able to give back to the community with a parade honoring the American Flag, Veterans of all wars, current service men and women, our country and our freedom. The weekend is home to the nation’s largest Flag Day Parade, and it starts with the Three Oaks Flag Day Hog Roast on Saturday, April 27th.
