Berrien County’s Circuit Court Judges announced today that Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Amy Byrd has been appointed Prosecuting Attorney for Berrien County by unanimous vote of the Circuit Judges. Byrd succeeds Steven Pierangeli, who resigned effective June 3, 2024.
Ms. Byrd will hold the Office of Prosecuting Attorney until a successor is elected at the next general November election. Several candidates, including Byrd, have announced plans to run for the office.
