American Pickers coming to Michigan

Calling all barn finds!

The crew from the History Channel show American Pickers is putting the call out to Michigan and Ohio that they will be in town soon. Exactly which town? Where? When? We don’t yet know.

Posted on their social media, the producers of American Pickers say they’re looking for collectors in the two states who have unique items and stories. If both your stuff and your story are interesting enough, the production might come to you and film an episode of the popular antique/collectible show this August.

The Facebook post reads:

“Oh, hey there OHIO and MICHIGAN!!! The pickers are coming through your state this AUGUST and are looking for the rarest, junkiest, and best collections in the area! If you or anyone you know has a collection, don’t wait ’til it’s too late! The pickers are excited to dig and find some RUSTY GOLD! Here’s three ways to contact us. CALL: (646) 493-2184   TEXT: (646) 493-2184   EMAIL: americanpickers@cineflix.com”

The producers make clear no stores, shops, antique malls, etc. will be considered, only private collections.

Not familiar with American Pickers? Here’s an apt description from the show’s website:

“This isn’t your grandmother’s antiquing. The American Pickers are on a mission to recycle America, even if it means diving into countless piles of grimy junk or getting chased off a gun-wielding homeowner’s land. Hitting back roads from coast to coast, the Pickers earn a living by restoring forgotten relics to their former glory, transforming one person’s trash into another’s treasure. The show follows the team as they scour the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting quirky characters and hearing their amazing stories.”

Whether Michigan’s Great Southwest can lure the show this August… we’ll stay tuned!
