My highest level of education is a Master of Science in Nursing, leadership and management.
What Town Do You Reside In?
St. Joseph
Where were you born?
St. Joseph, MI
What was your first job?
At 16, I was fortunate enough to work as an office assistant at Royalton Foot & Ankle on Hollywood Rd. I’d spend a few hours a week after school helping to post office visit notes inside paper charts. The staff here as well as Dr. Okonski and Dr. Halstead were always supportive of my goal to get into healthcare. It’s such a treat to see them both at the hospital after all these years!
Best advice you ever got?
My dad has always said, “your life can change on dime.” The older I’ve gotten, the more this has resonated with me.
Who inspires you most?
My family! They’re supportive and encouraging. They have always been my biggest cheerleaders!
That one thing about you we’d be most surprised to learn.
In college, I contemplated changing my major from nursing to teaching.
What do you love to do in your downtime?
I love taking trips with husband and kids, even if it’s just for the day! Our kids are at such a fun age and every minute is precious!
What book are you reading now?
Just starting, “The Surgeon” by Leslie Wolfe
Volunteer activity you love the most.
I really enjoy helping with the interview coaching for the local pageants. When I had my first interview at 22, I pulled tips I learned from my Miss St. Joseph experience back in 2008. I was grateful for the time and emphasis the committee dedicated to interview training!
What motivates you to give back to your community?
Growing up in Southwest Michigan and now raising my family here motivates me to give back to the community. I want to be a part of making our home better and better.
What Superpower would you most love to have? (for example, the ability to fly or to be invisible, or incredible strength, etc)
The ability to teleport myself anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice!
What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone?
I hope my legacy will be that I loved my family and friends with all of my heart, that I left a positive mark and example for those around me, I pushed myself to accomplish thing I thought were beyond my reach and passed with no regrets.
What does the  honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you?
It is just that. There are so many high achieving and incredible young adults in Southwest Michigan, it’s an honor to be named among them.
