Graduate of Benton Harbor High, where I won the title of Mr. Basketball for the state of Michigan, and was and all-star, All American. Attended DePaul University, where I made the all-freshman team. Was drafted with the 23rd pick by the New York Knicks after spending two years at DePaul. Thirteen year veteran of the NBA in America.
What else do you hope to accomplish by the age of 40?
Focusing on fatherhood (where I’m getting better at that daily), bringing more opportunities to Benton Harbor (both business and charitable), diversifying my business portfolio and becoming a respectable entrepreneur.

Attended DePaul University for two years. Numerous internships including Google, Bank of America, Gotham Funds Managed by hedge fund managers Joel Greenblatt and Robert Goldstein, Squawk On The Street.

Reality would have suggested otherwise for my life, but dreams kept me hungry for what I wanted in life. I focused on my dreams and not my reality at that time. That kept me motivated.

Volunteer activity you love the most.
Giving out food on Thanksgiving. That’s the time families normally spend together and the need is most magnified. There are a lot of people that don’t have, so I love helping that day most of all.
What motivates you to give back to your community?
Because I’m a product of my community, I know how hard it is, and things are different when you’re in it and not on the outside looking in. I’ve been in it.

Everyone wants a legacy. I honestly never cared.

It means someone thought I made a difference even if it was a small impact, and I appreciate that.
