AEP recognized as one of America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes

Parent company to Indiana Michigan Power, American Electric Power has been recognized as one of America’s Best Large Employers by Forbes magazine. 

In the 10th anniversary edition America’s Best Large Employers, AEP placed #272 in the country overall and #7 in the utilities industry for positive employee ratings in the areas of salary, work environment, training programs, and opportunities to advance. Survey respondents were also asked if they would recommend the workplace to others.

The Columbus, Ohio-based company lists approximately 17,250 employees and states they are one of the largest electric companies in the country, powering millions of homes and businesses daily.

Michigan companies making the 2025 Forbes list: Carhartt, Ally Financial, University of Michigan, General Motors, Auto-Owners Insurance, Ford Motor, Rocket Mortgage, Spar Group, DTE Energy, Stryker, Bosch, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Continental Automotive Systems, Dow, Borg Warner, Penske Automotive, Masco, Cooper-Standard Automotive, EDU Staff, La-Z-Boy, Lear. Magna International, American Axle & Manufacturing, and Consumers Energy. 

Forbes states that companies pay no fee to participate or be selected.
