The Women’s Business Center (WBC) at Cornerstone Alliance is using their 20-year anniversary celebration to announce a start-up grant to support new business ventures.
In their announcement, the group says the grant aligns with their mission to empower women-owned businesses and foster economic growth in Southwest Michigan.
“For 20 years, the WBC has been committed to supporting women, people of color, veterans, and economically disadvantaged individuals in launching and growing businesses in Southwest Michigan. This grant is just one of many ways we continue to build a brighter future for entrepreneurs in our community. We encourage all eligible entrepreneurs to apply, and we look forward to celebrating their innovative ideas at our anniversary event!”
The Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance provides technical, business, and financial assistance to small businesses and entrepreneurs. The group is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The following details from the WBC describe the funding:
Grant Opportunity: Access to capital funding remains one of the most significant barriers to starting a business. In honor of our milestone anniversary, the WBC is offering a $5,000 start-up grant to help budding entrepreneurs gain access to essential services such as accounting, marketing, or legal support. Rather than cash, the grant will be awarded in the form of services tailored to meet the recipient’s business needs.
How to Apply: Entrepreneurs who are residents of Berrien, Cass, or Van Buren Counties and are either in the start-up phase or have been in business for no more than six months are eligible to apply. To be considered for the grant, applicants must submit their business idea via the following form by September 23 at 9 AM ET: Application Link.
Event Details: Finalists will have the opportunity to present their business ideas live at the WBC’s 20th Anniversary Celebration on October 3, 2024. Attendees will not only witness these exciting pitches but also show their support for local entrepreneurs. Rally your network, attend the event, and be part of the moment when the winner is announced. Tickets are available now via Eventbrite.
