Bridgman Open Air Market to hold food drive

The Bridgman Open Air Market will hold a food drive throughout the month of September.

Throughout the month, visitors are asked to bring nonperishable and canned food donations. Market manager Roseann Stachowiak says it’s great to give back to the community, especially when people are in need.

“We’re trying to do something different every month,” Stachowiak said. “So if we can put something on that’s going to help people, let them know there is something that can be done. For difficult situations, we’re going to do the best we can by them, and it’s a difficult time right now.”

The market will take nonperishable donations like soup, vegetables, and single serve meals. After each Sunday’s market, the donations collected will be sent to the Harbor County Mission.

“If we can continue to show them that they can help each other, things are going to get through this a little easier.”

The event will be held each Sunday as part of the Bridgman Open Air Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All are welcome.
