What Does Your Company/Organization Do? The South Haven Area Chamber of Commerce is a dedicated organization focused on supporting local businesses and fostering economic growth in the South Haven region. Our mission is to build a vibrant and prosperous community and have fun doing it!

Age: 34

Education: Attended Davenport University for Business Administration

Accomplishments:
During high school, I participated at state level in Business Professionals of America (BPA) and earned a scholarship to Davenport University. I also obtained certification that allowed me to assist low-income families with free tax filing services, an accomplishment recognized with an appreciation dinner attended by our then state representative, Tonya Schuitmaker. While attending Davenport University I made it on the Dean’s List. However, my greatest accomplishments are my two sons, Jaden and Brenden.

What else do you hope to accomplish by the age of 40? By the time I’m 40, my boys will be grown, and I hope to use that newfound time to further my career. I look forward to deepening my involvement with the community and local businesses, using my experiences to make a meaningful impact.

Current City: South Haven, MI

Place You Were Born: South Haven, MI

What was your first job? My first job was Dairy Queen. I prepared ice cream and food for customers, and worked the cash register.

What motivates you to give back to your community? My boys motivate me to give back to my community. Their passion and energy inspire me to be more engaged and make a positive impact in the place we call home.

What Superpower would you most love to have? If I could have one super power it would be the ability to teleport. We spend so much time traveling to and from places it would be nice to get some of that time back!

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone? My hope is to encourage young, especially teen single moms, by showing them that they can achieve their dreams and urging them not to give up. I want my boys to look back and be proud of the mother I was and to see the progress I made and the obstacles I over came despite the challenges.

What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you? It’s a huge honor to be named on the 40 Under 40 list and to be recognized alongside the others I was nominated with. Balancing life as a teen mom while attending college and working full time was challenging, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see that my hard work and dedication have paid off. I am very honored and humbled to have been selected.
