What else do you hope to accomplish by the age of 40? I hope to make more of an impact on my community, be a great mom, and balance a thriving business with my personal life in a way that benefits everyone.

Current City: Coloma, MI

Place You Were Born: St. Joseph, MI

What was your first job? I actually worked at 3 places simultaneously upon turning 16! One of my jobs was working at the museum which stood where the Silver Beach Carousel now stands – our goal was to create awareness and generate funds to help build the carousel we all know and love today. My mom and I were the only two employees! The days I was not working at the museum, I was coaching gymnastics and beginner tumbling at what used to be called Cheer Unlimited in St. Joe as well as Vi Shafer Dance Studio in Coloma. Occasionally I would also babysit.

What motivates you to give back to your community? I grew up here, so I feel a special tie to the community. They helped me become who I am today and I want to give back as a thank you and also to help the area continue to grow and thrive.

What Superpower would you most love to have? I would love to have the Superpower of stopping time. As a new mom, this is something I wish I had! And, as a business owner, sometimes it’s hard to find the time to stop and celebrate wins!

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone? I would like to leave a legacy as someone who accomplished everything she set out to do through hard work, kindness, and compassion. I hope to live a life of service where those who come after me can feel inspired to do the same.

What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you? It’s an amazing feeling! Having grown up here it feels like a very full-circle moment to be honored with this achievement.
