My goal before 40 is to utilize my leadership degree and take a step into the administration side and begin making a difference in that position.

Current City: Niles, Michigan

Place You Were Born: South Bend, Indiana

What was your first job? My first job was serving ice cream at the local Dairy Queen

What motivates you to give back to your community? My favorite thing is to give to others. I just enjoy knowing that what I am doing is making a positive impact for others. I also love being that role model for my kids and my students. I want them to WANT to give back, so if they can see someone they look up to doing it, hopefully it makes them excited to want to serve their community as well.

What Superpower would you most love to have? I don’t have enough time in my day, so I would love that superspeed to get to one place to another quickly!

What would you like to leave behind as your legacy once you are gone? Jon Gordon: “The best impact you could leave is not some structure that is named after you or jewelry but rather a planet that has been affected and touched by your presence, joy, and positive actions.” I hope that as a teacher, mom and wife people just remember the love, grace and devotion I gave the best I could everyday.

What does the honor of being named to the 40 Under 40 most mean to you? This left me speechless! Sometimes as a teacher it’s hard to get recognized because you’re not doing these big things like some business owners. And to just been seen and recognized as a Kindergarten teacher in a small district in Niles is truly an amazing honor. I feel humbled, but also excited to be apart of this 40 under 40 class!
