Watermark Brewing Company in Stevensville is among the recipients of $748,000 in Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Match on Main grants announced this week by Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
Match on Main is a grant program that seeks to help small businesses expand their operations and improve the downtown areas in which they’re located.
Watermark Brewing has been approved for a $22,000 grant to expand its beer garden. Watermark’s Chris Mason says the expansion will enable it to retain, and possibly grow, its workforce and continue to help Stevensville’s business community thrive.
Also receiving grants through Match on Main are the Beehive Design Collective in Cassopolis and Coastal Blue in South Haven, with each being awarded $25,000 for improvements.
The state says 31 small businesses are receiving support in this round of grants, creating resiliency and strengthening downtowns in communities throughout Michigan.
