Tell us the story behind the nominated company. What does it do, and what sets them apart from other companies in the region?
US Tarp manufactures tarps and tarp systems specifically for the trucking industry in agriculture, construction, and waste management. Management excels at maintaining a great company culture, continuous improvement, and constantly gives back to the employees with prize giveaways, catered food, and even bringing an ice cream truck in the summer.
In your own words, why do you think this company deserves to be declared to be one of the 20 Best Places to Work in Michigan’s Great Southwest?
I’ve never worked anywhere else where I felt so valued and everyone truly got along. It’s extremely diverse and brings so many different perspectives to the work that it’s truly innovative.
What makes workers proud to say they work there, and keeps them a part of the team?
That the management and leadership really care about them, and it shows.

They have a large company picnic in the summer, catering amazing food along with games and prizes. They also provide a lot of meals and encourage people to eat together and talk to each other.
What one thing is special about your nominated company that most people in the community have no idea actually happens there, but should be shouted from the rooftops because it’s that cool?
They are truly innovative and constantly trying to grow and change. They have customers in all 50 states, and everyone probably sees their products on the roads every day without realizing it.

I can’t stress enough how much they value every employee and don’t play favorites. They make very intelligent strategic decisions.
