Back by popular demand, Kids Day at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship at Harbor Shores is officially scheduled for Saturday, May 25. With a series of family-friendly activities tailored to young golf and cooking fans, families won’t want to miss the excitement taking place in the KitchenAid Fairway Club and the Kids Zone in Jean Klock Park throughout the day.
All juniors, 15 and under, will be admitted into the Championship for free with an accompanying ticketed adult (four juniors per one ticketed adult).
Kids Day officially kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning with the annual KitchenAid Smoothie Race at the KitchenAid Fairway Club, located along the 14th hole in the North Pier Brewing Company parking lot.
Participants will race against the clock to blend an original smoothie recipe before a panel of judges taste-test the concoctions to determine a winner.
Kids will then head to the Kids Zone down hole #7 for activities with the Renaissance Athletic Club. They will have field activities set up for kids of all levels to run through engaging drills and races. All are welcome to test their speed and agility with these inclusive kids activities.
Next up, the kids are invited to stay in Kids Zone located in Jean Klock Park for a special magic show by Magician John Dudley, performing at 12:00 p.m. The Kids Zone, sponsored by the YMCA of Greater Michiana, will be the place for kids to enjoy age-appropriate activities including hitting bays, a bounce house, craft stations and the Curious Kids Museum STEM tent featuring fun science-related activities.
On Sunday, Zeke the Wonder Dog, from Michigan State University fame, will be in the Kids Zone at noon to showcase his amazing frisbee tricks. Zeke is sponsored by Berrien Spartans.
“The KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship is proud to be a family-friendly event with many great activities for kids throughout the entire week,” said Brandon Haney, director of the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship. “As always, we’re thankful for support from the YMCA of Greater Michiana, the Curious Kids Museum and The Renaissance Athletic Club. We hope to create fun, special memories for families in our community all weekend long.”
