TODAY: MBDA hosting Native American Business Initiative lunch

They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch, but one is happening today in Benton Harbor.

The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is hosting a Native American Business Initiative event today (Wednesday, May 15) at The Secret Garden in Benton Harbor. The event is free to attend, includes lunch, and takes place from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The event focus is to help Native American entrepreneurs understand what guidance, networking, and government assistance might be available to them, so they can be successful in the Southwest Michigan community.

Additional organizations on hand include: Small Business Association, Business Solutions Group, the Department of Labor, American Indian Chamber of Commerce – Michigan (AICCMI), Operation Hope, Slalom, and the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber.

The Minority Business Development Agency functions under the United State Department of Commerce, it is the only cabinet agency dedicated to promoting growth and competitiveness of socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SEDI), including Hispanics and Latino American, Asian Pacific American, Asian Indian, African American, and Native American businesses.
