Plans are underway for a once popular bar and restaurant in Baroda to be reopened in time for the Summer season. Joe and Tara Matthews of TJ’s Sports Bar & Grill in Watervliet, along with business partner Greg Borr are finalizing paperwork to take over the spot that enjoyed a couple of successful runs for many years, then crashed quickly with a thud in its latest incarnation as a British pub in 2023.
Details are sketchy at this point, however the new owners have agreed to sit down with Moody On The Market early next week to reveal their plans for the bar and grill that was known as Bill’s Tap for decades and later Baroda Tap and Grill for several years.
The restaurant’s location and consistently good food over the years drove what appeared to be strong customer traffic. However, new owners installed a British pub concept as ‘The Rose and Crown’ most recently and the experiment failed after a couple of months of mixed reviews.
From early social media reaction to the ‘TJ’s to Baroda’ plan, potential customers are already giving the new concept a ‘thumbs up.’ We’ll tell you more after our interview next week. Stay tuned!
