Student art on display at The Box Factory for the Arts

The artwork of school children from Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties is on display starting today at The Box Factory for the Arts.

Often referred to as the “Homecoming for the Creative Kids,” organizers say the long-running community student art exhibition is a place to celebrate our communities’ creatives.

The 2024 Community Student Art Exhibitions are presented by Krasl Art Center in partnership with the Berrien Regional Education Services Agency (RESA) and The Box Factory for the Arts. From March 14 through May 5, student art is on display for the community to see and celebrate the creativity of the region’s young artists.

The exhibition is an opportunity to shine a light on these young artists. K-12 students in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties are invited to participate, whether home, private, or public school students.

Artists enjoy having their artwork exhibited in a professional setting, and they receive juried awards while sharing their creative talents with the greater Southwest Michigan community.

The art is reviewed by local judges who will present awards based on 2D, 3D, video, digital, and collaboration aspects.

The elementary school exhibits are on display through April 7. Middle and high school art is on display from April 18 through May 5. The Box Factory is open Thursdays from 12 to 6 pm and Friday through Sunday, 12 to 4 pm.
