The city of Dowagiac and Cass County are celebrating the opening of a major family entertainment center. Nitro Zone opened this week on Pokagon Street in Dowagiiac, occupying a huge building that once housed a discount department store.
Nitro Zone is an indoor playground for kids and adults, offering bowling, laser tag, arcade games, axe throwing and an indoor roller coaster that’s getting rave reviews from early riders. Similar facilities are found in larger cities, but rarely in a smaller town like Dowagiac.
While the accent on games and fun may suggest a youthful target consumer, there is also a family friendly restaurant and bar onsite.
City Manager Kevin Anderson said at the grand opening that Nitro Zone is symbolic of a new atmosphere of business growth in Dowagiac and will help attract families to choose the city as a place to live.
Nitro Zone is located at 56419 Pokagon Street in Dowagiac.
Operating hours are:
Monday-Thursday: 1 P.M. to 10 P.M.
Friday: 1 P.M. to 1 A.M.
Saturday: 12 P.M. to 1 A.M.
Sunday: 12 P.M. to 10 P.M.
