Coming up November 25 in South Haven will be the first ever Reindeer Run 5k and Kids’ Rudolph Romp.
Organized by the Mitten Children’s Museum and the South Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau, the event will raise funds for the museum and offer everyone a chance for some holiday-themed fun.
Museum Director Wendi Onuki tells us the day will kick off with the Rudolph Romp fun run for little kids and their parents. They’ll give out antlers to the kids.
“Holiday attire is encouraged, so they can dress festively, and we’ll see if we get them to wear the antlers or not,” Onuki said. “I think some of them might have jingle bells on them, trying to make it really fun for everybody.”
Onuki says the 5k will start at the historic Hotel Nichols on Center Street.
“It goes a little bit downtown but past the downtown, and then it will loop over by the lake, so they’ll get to take in some lake views. Then they’ll come back to the starting point. That’s where it ends as well.”
Everyone will gather at the hotel. Onuki says she hopes people use the day as a chance to check out some small businesses downtown.
5k registration is $25 for adults or $15 for kids. The Rudolph Romp comes with a $5 suggested donation.
