Niles RiverFest next month

Set for August 3 through August 6 is the Niles RiverFest. Event coordinator TJ Martin with the Riverfront Optimist Club of Niles tells us they’ll have four days packed with music and fun at Riverfront Park downtown.

“What we have is four days of free concerts with music on the hillside by the amphitheater by the St. Joseph River,” Martin said. “We have bounce houses, family golf, craft vendors, food vendors. It’s a community affair.”

Martin says the RiverFest will include live music all day with the headliners being Fillmore’s Ladder on Friday and The Santana Project on Saturday. Both are classic rock bands, although the daytime music will feature a wide variety of styles. The Niles RiverFest has been around for about 30 years, although it was on a seven year hiatus until three years ago when they brought it back. It’s free to attend, and Martin says his favorite part of the event is to see the smiles on the faces of people who are glad they came. You can find out more at the event’s Facebook page.
