Travel Michigan promotes National Travel and Tourism Week

National Travel and Tourism Week is officially underway and the state of Michigan is eyeing a very busy summer when it comes to tourists. Travel Michigan Vice President Dave Lorenz says he expects the travel season to creep back towards the heights they reached before the onset of COVID.

“I do think it’s going to be a very, very busy season because there’s still a lot of pent up demand, and there are those international travelers are coming back,” Lorenz said. “So, if you haven’t made your plans yet, I suggest you go to Michigan.org, do some planning in advance, and figure out what you want to do now. It’s going to be very busy and you don’t want to be left out in the cold.”

Lorenz is also taking part in a weeklong webcast series with Tom Daldin of Under the Radar to discuss the travel season. You can catch each episode this week at 7 p.m. on michigan.org and Pure Michigan Facebook Live.
