There will be some changes to booking reservations at the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday campground this year.
The 2023 spring camping season has just begun, but the Coloma/St. Joseph KOA Holiday campground is planning ahead and is continuing to make improvements for their guests, including when they can make reservations.
To meet the record consumer demand, they announced today that reservations will open for all of next year’s season (2024) starting this coming Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2023. This means it will be possible for guests to book an advanced reservation as much as eighteen months ahead of time, either by calling the campground or conveniently booking online.
“One of the core beliefs of the KOA system is that we are entrepreneurial and are always challenging ourselves to do better,” said Mark Lemoine, owner of Fifth Level Hospitality, Inc., which owns and operates the campground. “That’s why it’s critical to evaluate what our guests are asking so we can better meet their needs.”
As the largest campground system in the world with over 500 locations across the United States and Canada, Kampgrounds of America (KOA) was the first outdoor hospitality company to offer real-time Internet reservations prior to 2010. Since then, they have introduced online features such as “Select My Site” where guests can choose a specific site, and “Market Basket” where multiple reservations can be made all in a single transaction for different dates, sites and/or for stays at different KOAs.
Additionally, since 2020, nearly 30 million households have started camping either for the first time, or have renewed their interest in the outdoors. This interest now accounts for 93.3 million North American households who go camping annually, according to the 2022 Annual North American Camping Report.
Mark added, “Too often guests would ask us if they could make reservations for the following year, and we would need to tell them ‘no.’ We are confident that leading this new industry standard will be a welcome change for those who like to plan ahead for themselves and their families.”
