Cook Nuclear Plant Reduces Power For Maintenance

The Cook Nuclear Power Plant has reduced power on its Unit 1 reactor to 50% for maintenance work. The power was reduced at midnight Tuesday and will remain at that level until the work is done. Unit 2 will remain at 100% power. Indiana Michigan Power says the planned maintenance work is on Unit 1’s main feed pump condenser system. The work is designed to ensure maximum unit reliability over the summer months. No timetable is released for when the unit will return to full power.
