A new service has been launched for Berrien County veterans to learn about opportunities available to them in a timely fashion. Berrien County Veteran Services Office Director Maureen Adams tells us VIBE is a communication channel that will send alerts to the phones of those signed up. She says she’s been looking for something like this for a while.
“We’ve tried billboards, we’ve tried newsprint ads, television ads, but this is something that is going to be able to allow us to send out information in the moment,” Adams said.
Adams says VIBE could be used to tell veterans about all kinds of services.
“Many times I have employers come in looking to hire a veteran or a landlord looking to rent properties to a veteran, and I just have not had the means to get the word out there. So, I’m juts really excited about this opportunity.”
A veteran can sign up for VIBE by scanning a QR code with their phone. Or, they can call the Berrien County Veteran Services Office and ask staff to manually sign them up. They can also opt out whenever they wish. To scan the QR code to sign up for VIBE, go to Facebook page of the Berrien County Veteran Services Office.
