Allegan County Community Foundation Lauds Success of First-ever ‘Day of Giving’

The Allegan County Community Foundation (ACCF) hosted it’s 1st annual 24 hour day of giving, “Allegan County Gives” last week, on March 19th. A total of $12,915 dollars was raised to support non-profit endowment funds at ACCF.

The Allegan County community came together during the 24 hour initiative to give their time, talent, and treasure to support the efforts of multiple organizations across the county. A total of 19 organizations received support. Residents gave their contributions, along with their time and talent during this time. The Foundation collected information from those who wanted to become involved in volunteering and will connect local agencies to those individuals.

The ACCF matched donations for the day up to a total of $10,000, meaning partner agencies received $22,915 in funds to help build long-term financial stability.

Executive Director, Stephanie Calhoun says “We are very excited about the success of this year and look forward to growing this event every year. Time, Talent, and Treasure positively impacts Allegan County for now and for ever.”
