While our lawn chairs and picnic tables are occupied by mounds of snow and ice, there’s no reason for entertainment and fun to stop– SideYard in Sawyer has announced their February lineup for their Winter Music Series, and the schedule is hot!
Held indoors at 5870 Sawyer Road in Sawyer, these concerts take place on Saturday evenings, from 7 p.m to 9 p.m, and offer warmth and good vibes to your soul during our frigid, frosty winter. The screened-in, heated portion of their patio has allowed SideYard to increase their indoor entertaining space to a capacity of about sixty guests. January introduced the Winter Music Series, and highlighted four fantastic artists.
The first February concert happens this Saturday, February 4th, and will feature Nate & Leslie Sypian, popular Southwest Michigan musicians. You’ve heard them before, performing in The Sypian Family Band, The Backups, and Mo & Co, all over the area, and frequently!
“We had great turnouts when we hosted music over the summer, and knowing a ton of local musicians, a lot of them close friends, along with my husband Cam (a local musician for over fifteen years), this series came naturally,” says owner Alex Cihlar. “We also wanted to give locals something fun to do this time of year, when a lot of other Harbor Country businesses take much deserved breaks.”
The rest of the month will showcase musicians:
Matt Lenny – Saturday, February 11th
Robert Rolfe Fedderson – Saturday, February 18th
Andrew Fisher – Saturday, February 25th
Winter Series concerts are free to attend, seating is first come first served, and though their food truck is in hibernation, a limited menu is available for sandwiches, soup, and small snacks. SideYard is currently booking gigs for their summer entertainment, and plans on hosting musical performances on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Watch their social media pages for specials and features, and don’t miss these performances!
