The gales of November have arrived.
With winds gusting over 40 miles per hour at times on Saturday along the southwest Michigan lakeshore, sand-filled water was whipping across both piers in St. Joseph.
Large waves in the St. Joseph River channel rose above the pier from one side, while strong lake waves splashed and drenched the pier. Watch until the end of the video below for an unexpected wet surprise as a channel wave comes across and gets blown back across the pier at high speeds.

Another video shows a “danger” sign shaking and water flying across the beach.
