New Veterans Clinic Opening In Benton Township

There’s a new Veterans Administration clinic about to open in Benton Township. VA spokesperson Brian Pegouske tells us the new outpatient clinic has been in the works for about three years. It’s to better meet the needs of Berrien County veterans seeking care.

“It’ll be about twice the size of the existing clinic,” Pegouske said. “It’ll still primarily do mental health and primary care for veterans in the community, but it will be in a much more modern facility. Easier to navigate.”

The VA clinic will leave its current location at 115 West Main Street in Benton Harbor and move to the new location at 1275 Mall Drive, across from Lowe’s, next month. Pegouske says they’ll offer the same services at the new center, although more could be coming.

“We will look  in the future into the possibility of bringing some specialty care rotating in the service based on need once we run the reports and look at the space availability.”

Pegouske says the VA is excited to finally see the new clinic open so local veterans can get the care they’ve earned. There will be a ribbon cutting for the new center on October 18 and some video tours will be made available to the public.
