Workshop On Ways to Live Healthy With Diabetes

Diabetes PATH (Personal Action Towards Health) is a six week program that teaches practical skills for living a healthy life with diabetes. The workshop focuses on self-care, learning new coping strategies, and sharing personal experiences with other group members.

Diabetes PATH is a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program that was developed and tested by Stanford University.  It is designed to be part of an individual’s current medical treatment.  Research has shown people who have attended this six session workshop feel better, are less limited by their illness, and spend less time at the doctor or in the hospital.

Classes are scheduled to meet at the Niles Community Health Center 1951 Oak St. in Niles on Wednesdays from 10:00 am—12:30 pm and will begin April 27th – June 1st.  Classes meet for 2 1/2 hours once a week.

Cost for the 6 week workshop is FREE, but donations are gratefully accepted.  Family members, friends or caregivers are also encouraged to attend.  Class sizes are limited and pre-registration is required.  Please call the Julie at  (269) 982-7759 or Tracy at (800) 442-2803 at the Area Agency on Aging for more information and to register for the class.
