Robert Half Survey Predicts Hiring Will Increase

A new survey from Robert Half shows that the job market will continue its recovery well into 2022. Practice director Neal Gilbert told Michigan News Network what’s driving the positive results from the company’s State of U.S. Hiring Survey.

“We saw GDP results came out positively recently for the fourth quarter of 2021, and in our survey, we saw 65% of companies actually looking to hire those new employees,” Gilbert said. “It’s basically up 14 points from about six months ago. So, I think there’s just more of a positive outlook out there.”
Among the 24 U.S. cities in the survey, those with the highest percentages of employers planning to add permanent positions are Charlotte with 75%, San Francisco at 74% and Detroit with 72% of employers looking to expand their workforce. Contract hiring is also heating up, with nearly three-quarters of senior managers expect to bring in more contract professionals in 2022.
