As a community, the city of Bridgman is quick to recognize the dedication put forth by educators, administrators, staff, and businesses who so tirelessly work to ensure the success of the students of Bridgman Public Schools. To offer gratitude and thanks, the ‘Learn By Heart’ Campaign, a monthly raffle, was started to show appreciation to those that have made an impact in the community. One winner, and the educator they thanked, will each receive a Buy Local Bridgman Community gift card, that can be used in local establishments for dining, gifts, groceries, and more.
The Greater Bridgman Area Chamber & Growth Alliance has donated five $100 gift cards to the cause, supporting the public school system and the local economy. “This generous contribution only emphasizes the community’s sentiment on the importance of public education,” says superintendent Shane Peters. The Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance is a non-profit organization that focuses on the community and economic development of the City of Bridgman and Lake Township area.
“It is critical for our local business community to forge strong ties with our public schools. Our students of today will be our workforce and policy makers of tomorrow. We need to ensure our educators feel the support of their community so they can continue preparing our students for the future,” says Brett Boyd, executive director of the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance.
The list of those eligible to be entered into the raffle is a large one, and includes Bridgman Public Schools teachers, coaches, paraprofessionals, counselors, bus drivers, custodians, librarians, food service staff, administrative assistants, social workers, and more.
The campaign will run until the end of the school year, as raffle drawings will take place on the last day of each month from January through May. All entries must be submitted via the online raffle form, which can be found at bridgmanschools.com/thanks/.
