An event will be held by the Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance this week to mark Women’s Entrepreneurship Day. On Friday, the WBC will host the first MOGUL, or Making Our Goals Unite Lives, event with watch parties throughout southwest Michigan. Women’s Business Center Director Brandon Campbell tells us those who attend will see a fireside chat featuring comedian and entrepreneur Loni Love, co-host of The Real and owner of True Love production company.
“I’m a believer that what a person sees is what they’ll be,” Campbell said. “So, what we want to do is provide positive stories, positive role models from someone who is from Michigan in order to provide hope and inspiration to other women and people of color who are struggling in their business or have an idea and they’re sitting on that idea because they have a fear.”
Love will chat with Afiya Latham, Co-owner of Express Employment Professionals of Southwest Michigan as part of the MOGUL event. Campbell says the watch party locations will be the Ghostlight Theatre, the Niles District Library, Lake Michigan College at the South Haven Campus, and ThinkBar Coworking Space. The chat can also be watched virtually. You can find out about registering at Cornerstone’s website.
