While traffic isn’t as heavy as it was prior to construction of the Sodus Parkway, those who travel Pipestone Road between the Parkway and Nickerson Avenue will face from disruptions beginning tomorrow as the Berrien County Road Department launches a resurfacing project there.
Road Department officials tell us that Pipestone Road in Sodus Township is getting the makeover from the Sodus Parkway to Nickerson Avenue starting tomorrow, Tuesday, May 25th.
That project will result in road lane reductions, and traffic will be controlled by flaggers during construction activities. You should expect possible delays during that work and are asked to reduce speeds accordingly when traveling through the work zone.
The work in Sodus Township will run on Pipestone Road, from the Sodus Parkway to Nickerson Avenue and will be placing a new 2-inch HMA Overlay on Pipestone.
Pipestone Road will have intermittent lane closures between the Sodus Parkway and Nickerson Avenue throughout the project with cold milling taking place to prepare the surface beginning tomorrow, followed by paving and work to the road shoulder to finish it off.
The project is estimated to take approximately two weeks to complete with a targeted completion date of Tuesday, June 8th.
Road Department officials ask for everyone to watch out for construction workers and equipment along that route.
