If you own a small business in Michigan and need help continuing to operate in the face of capacity limitations, State Representative Pauline Wendzel wants to draw your attention to a new grant program from the state of Michigan, but you’ll need to act fast next week as it is first-come, first-served.
The Watervliet State Rep. today announced the launch of weatherization grants from the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to help Michigan small businesses brace for the upcoming winter months.
Wendzel says, “As we are seeing an increase in COVID cases and the weather in our state begins to turn, many Michigan businesses facing capacity limitations will be looking for ways to continue operating safely,” and adds, “The health and safety of our community is of the utmost importance, which is why these weatherization grants are coming at the perfect time. As businesses across our community and state prepare for the upcoming season, these grants can provide the necessary resources to help them keep operating under unusual and difficult circumstances.”
The grants are being administered by the Small Business Association of Michigan and the application process will open next week on Wednesday, November 18th at noon. Grants will be awarded to eligible businesses on a first-come, first-served basis, with special consideration given to fulfill a minimum of 10 requests in each of Michigan’s prosperity regions.
