South Haven area businesses and individuals in search of zoning information, changes, appeals, and other such issues have a new contact for those situations as the city has named a new Zoning Administrator to handle the load.
The City of South Haven has announced that Travis Sullivan has accepted the position of Zoning Administrator for the city, but will also stay in his current position as the community’s City Clerk until the finish of the November election.
Travis has been employed with South Haven since June of 2016. Prior to his position as City Clerk, he worked for the City of Kalamazoo for 8 years in a variety of positions. His professional career spans more than eleven years in city government, providing support to senior level management staff. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in History and a Master of Public Administration, Public Management from Grand Valley State University.
In the Zoning Administrator position, Travis’s responsibilities will include performing planning and zoning administration and front counter operations of the Building Services Department. Other responsibilities also include administration of the City’s Zoning Ordinance and Master Plan; preparation of professional planning reviews; presentation of planning reviews to the Planning Commission and City Council; preparation of planning studies, ordinance amendments and other written reports and frequent interaction with the public.
City officials say they are confident that Travis will continue to provide and implement high quality services for the city’s residents and visitors as the new Zoning Administrator.
