South Haven Waterfront Pic Among Top 5 in WM Photo Contest

The striking sunset photo of the South Haven pier and waterfront submitted by Fermin Manatad of Warren, Michigan, has been declared among the Top 5 photos sent to the West Michigan Tourist Association, and an announced winner in the Beach and Lake category of the competition.

As shown in the photo accompanying this story on Moody on the Market, the South Haven image was one of five selected following vigorous online balloting at the association’s Facebook fan page.

Manatad’s photo was one of more than 1,300 submitted in the beginning of the West Michigan Photo Contest, and ultimately emerged as one of the most popular and best among the entries.

The photo joined 49 others culled from the more than 1,300 submissions, and then placed onto the Facebook site for public voting to narrow to the winner’s list. More than 15,000 votes were cast in the contest and the winning photos will be featured in the 2021 West Michigan Carefree Travel Guide which comes available in January, along with prize packs of West Michigan goodies and experiences delivered to each winner.

The West Michigan Photo Contest takes place each summer, with any interested photographers invited to share their photos of West Michigan for consideration.
