If you have business anytime in the near future with the Berrien County Trial Court at either the Berrien County Courthouse in St. Joseph or the South County Court in Niles, do yourself a favor and watch the new video created by the courts to guide you through what to expect when you head to either building.
The court continues to be in Phase 2, which means very limited numbers of the general public are allowed in the building. They strongly suggest you call ahead before making the trip to avoid an unnecessary turn away.
The courts are heavily engaged in COVID-19 Public Screenings, and by watching the shortly two-minute video, you’ll be far better prepared for what to expect once you arrived on their doorstep.
By way of example, only two will be allowed into the entry portal at a time, you’ll be asked a series of half a dozen health-related questions, you might have to wait outside for a text when it is your turn to go in, you must wear a mask to gain entry, you’ll have your temperature checked, and only two people will be allowed into an elevator at a time, with floor instructions on where to stand.
