While the plan is still almost five years into the future, it’s never too early for those businesses, residents and communities that could be impacted by the project to deliver feedback to the Michigan Department of Transportation regarding road and bridge improvements along I-94 and M-40 including the interchange there at Paw Paw.
With MDOT’s proposed plans in 2025 for road and bridge improvements along I-94 and M-40, including an examination of the entire M-40 interchange, they are inviting business owners, community leaders, and the public in general to participate in the study and collaborate with the transportation team throughout the process. They are hosting a virtual event, intended to engage community leaders, residents and potential stakeholders to share ideas, suggestions, and concerns for roadway improvements or potential development opportunities in an upcoming session.
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is planning to replace the M-40 bridge over I-94 in Van Buren County in 2025. A transportation study that was started in October 2019 will examine bridges, culverts, and storm sewer in preparation of determining road and bridge improvements for 3 miles of I-94 and 3 miles of M-40. Interchange alternatives will be developed and prioritized in consideration of public input, traffic and safety modeling, environmental impacts, and estimated cost.
