While there is no immediate word on when they plan to reopen operations, action behind the scenes is setting the stage for when that day comes for the Four Winds Casinos in New Buffalo, Dowagiac, Hartford and South Bend.
A statement issued on Friday comprised of a single sentence foretells of reopening with no specific date in mind at that time. The statement reads, “We are working on our plans for reopening with the Pokagon Gaming Commission and great care is being taken to ensure that we resume our operations in a manner, that will not only protect the health and safety of our guests and employees, but also provide an enjoyable entertainment experience.”
The safety considerations scheduled to be employed by the casinos when they open would include much of what you would expect in the current pandemic environment with such things as:
- Reopening at 50-percent occupancy at each site…
- Personal Protection Equipment worn by all employees…
- Safety precautions on the gaming floors…
- Limiting the number of guests in each of the casino’s restaurant facilities…
- Health screenings for all guests and employees…
- Shelving all valet parking and chauffeur services until further notice…
While the plans are be prepared, no specific date for reopening of the casinos is in place at this time. Stay tuned.
