Pledging to “continue to be a steady voice” as we recover from the pandemic, Van Buren County State Representative Beth Griffin has announced plans today to run for re-election to the 66th District State House seat she currently holds.
Griffin says today, “Serving the families of Southwest Michigan has been a great honor,” and adds, “I will continue to be a steady voice and fight for our community as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Rep. Griffin has been instrumental in securing record funding for K-12 schools and technical training schools, lowering car insurance premiums by passing historical Auto No-Fault reform, and stopping the governor’s 45-cent gas-tax hike.
Griffin notes, “Michigan has made tremendous progress over the last several years, however, there’s more work to do. Our main focus moving forward should be re-starting Southwest Michigan’s economy and monitoring COVID-19 testing.”
Griffin’s focus in her final term will be to help re-start Southwest Michigan’s economy, continue advocating for skilled trade opportunities and linking local students to good-paying jobs, expanding rural broadband coverage across Southwest Michigan, and combating PFAS and soil erosion.
She concludes, “I look forward to working with my colleagues to make life better for the people of our great state.”
Rep. Griffin is currently the State Representative of the 66th House District, which includes all of Van Buren County, Alamo Township, Cooper Township, and the city of Parchment.
